Week 9

9/26/16

This week was a slow week so I probably won't have a long email today, sorry. I have been sick because of the weather changing so we spent a lot of time in the apartment.. sleeping. 

We got to read the Book of Mormon with John. He is keeping his commitments to read even though he has a hard time seeing. He still hasn't made it to church because of work, but he told one of the members that lives neer him that he has really been thinking about the things that we have been teaching him!!! :D That makes me so happy that he actually wants to know if this is the truth!

We had Zone Training meeting on Wensday. That was really good and Sis. Densley and I were able to recieve some revelation on what we need to do to help one of our investigators progress. 

We had a guy that we contacted last week text us and set up a time to see us this last week so we met with him on Thursday. It was such a miracle that he texted us because that does not heppen here! We sat and answered his questions and just got to know him better. It was really awesome because you can tell that he sincerely wants to know the truth. We set up an appointment to see him again this week and start teaching the lessons. We had a miracle on Sunday because the member that we are eating with that night asked us to invite him to dinner and have the lesson in their home!!!! The members here are so awesome!! So we get to have our lesson in their home this week. 

We also have another member who will be inviting their nonmember friend to dinner! That just does not happen here!! We are super excited. So Sister Densley's birthday is on Wednesday so we celebrated at Mama C's house yesterday. It was fun and we had a great discussion on obedience to the commandments :) 

General Women's Conference was so good!! All the talks were so wonderful and I was able to recieve a lot of answers to my prayers. I really liked Carole M. Stevens' talk when she told us about how Heavenly Father will meet us where we are and in a voice that is familiar to us. We just have to ask for his help and He will be there. If anyone missed it, GO WATCH IT! All four talks were just so wonderful!

We have an investigator who has been struggling with serious health issues her whole life and they are really bad right now. We were able to get a member to her home yesterday to give her a blessing. It was so wonderful because the member who did it was able to teach her more about the priesthood and then he gave her a really great blessing. Then he did something that we didn't even think of, he offered to give a blessing to her husband! That was so wonderful! That really changed the Spririt in the room and it was already strong from her blessing. It was exactly what they needed right now. Sis. Densley and I were able to record their blessings so we are going to write them down for them so that they can continue to go back and read them. I'm grateful for the priesthood power of God being restored to the earth and for the wonderful men who are worthy to hold it. I'm grateful that I'm able to witness the miracles that take place because of those men exercising their priesthood power.

Alma 18:34-35

34. Ammon said unto him: I am a man; and man in the beginning was created after the image of God, and I am called by His Holy Spirit to teach these things unto this people, that they may be brought to a knowledge of that which is just and true;

35. And a portion of that Spirit dwelleth in me, which giveth me knowledge, and also power according to my faith and desires which are in God.

John 14:21

21. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
