Week 36

4/3/17

Last week of the transfer! It flew by and had more miracles! Sadly,
now it is time for my companion to go home. I'm going to miss her! I'm
excited to meet Sister Judd though! She is from Arizona too!
So there isn't much to report on the beginning of the week. The end of
the week was miraculous though! We were tracting out a neighborhood
and we found Emy. She was super nice and said we should come back to
talk to her parents because they are looking for a new church. We
scheduled an appointment to come back Monday evening, but then I found
out that the ward is throwing a surprise going away party for Sister
Hartvigsen. So we went back the next day to reschedule and her whole
family was there and so she invited us in to teach them! We weren't
prepared for that, but it was incredible! Even though they were really
struggling with the idea of a prophet, when we taught the first
vision, the Spirit filled that room and softened their hearts. They
were really hounding us with questions, but the Spirit really brought
them peace and they were able to sit and listen to what we were trying
to teach them. They want us to come back and they are going to read
the Book of Mormon. I'm so excited to go back and teach them more!
General Conference was the best!!! I loved so many of the talks, but
the one I needed the most what Elder Rasband's talk from the Sunday
morning session. He talked about acting on the first prompting from
the Holy Ghost. That takes a lot of faith, and I really struggle with
it sometimes, but he gave the guidance that I need to do better. Some
of the other talks that I really want to go back and read first are
Elder Nelson's on accessing God's power and Elder Hales on becoming a
more dedicated, consecrated disciple of Christ. I hope that all of you
were able to receive some answers, guidance, and peace from Conference
as well.
I have to say goodbye to my companion tomorrow. I'm so grateful for
the six months that we had here in Amity together. She is a very
diligent and obedient missionary and I have learned so much from her.
She has a lot of faith in the Lord and is always willing to follow the
prompting of the Spirit. That has really helped me because I struggle
with having the faith to follow promptings and I tend to second guess
them, but she has taught me that it is better to just follow what you
think is a prompting and it go nowhere, than to ignore it and miss the
opportunity to be the answer to someone's prayers or be the instrument
to bring someone into the fold.
