Week 32

3/6/17

So great things are happening in Amity!
Judy: We took a couple members with us to see her. It was really great because one of the members went back to re invite her to church. She told us that she is afraid to go, but she will go eventually. When our member went back, she was able to say the things that Judy needed to hear to make up her mind about coming to church. She read the Plan of Salvation pamphlet and decided, "Why not?" So she came to church on Sunday! Our member went to pick her up and she stayed all three hours! It was great! There is just such a huge change in her after making that decision, she is just so much happier!
Dustin, Katie, and kids: Dustin told us last week that he wouldn't be attending church because he didn't want to betray his friend... okay. So we asked Katie if her and the kids were still coming, thinking that if Dustin didn't come, she probably wouldn't. But she said that they were still coming and they did!!! The kids absolutely loved it and were begging to come back next week! I hope they do.
Javier: We meet with him every Sinday after church and he is doing great! He is reading the Book of Mormon and loves coming to church. We will probably set a baptismal date for him this week.
Rocio: She is on date for baptism on March 25!! She is golden! She just agrees with everything we teach her and really wants to commit to this. We will be teaching her husband soon.
Adrian: He passed the sacrament for the first time this Sunday! It was so great to see how far he has come! He is still just diving into the gospel, sharing it with everyone and taking every opportunity to serve in the ward. We are teaching his daughters so we will probably set a date for their baptisms as well.
Me: Eight months ago today I entered the MTC! It doesn't feel like it has been that long, I still feel new. I have been loving life as a missionary in Amity! The work is great, the members are the best! I love my companion!
We went out to eat at Thai Country one of the nights that our dinner had to cancel. When we were there, our bishop showed up and ended up paying for our dinner. It is hard sometimes because I don't want to let people do some of the things they do for us because they really don't have to, but I know that the Lord blesses those that take care of His missionaries. I really appreciate how above and beyond people go to love us. Honestly, we would get no where without our members.
I got a visit from Sister Maxey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss her! We became best friends in the MTC and I'm so grateful for her. She is such a great example and best friend! We went out for breakfast and then her and her mom took us to do our shopping, they are wonderful people.
"How can you increase in your discipleship? I have an invitation for you that will help--an assignment, actually--if you choose to accept it. Commence tonight to consecrate a portion of your time each week to studying everything Jesus said and did. ...
"This may seem like a large assignment. But I encourage you to accept it." ~President Russell M. Nelson
