Week 21

12/19/16

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
We had the opportunity to do service at the Senior center this week and that was super fun. We basically just bus tables, but we are supposed to talk to them too so that's fun :D There was one lady that we met there that we ended up tracting into later this week. Her name is Phyllis and she is SO NICE! She talked to us for awhile and she took a Book of Mormon.
Our fire alarm battery started beeping at us this week so we went to the fire department to get a battery (That's what Elder Brandon, the office missionary over housing, told us to do) and they told us that we need to go buy one haha. We never got around to doing that and then we got snow so we weren't allowed to drive the cars so we ended up having a member bring us a battery haha.
We got a fair amount of snow this week. Bridges were getting closed and we didn't have our car for almost two days because the roads weren't safe. That made it so we did a lot of walking which was fun :) It was getting really cold and my coat wasn't keeping me warm so I've been using one of our member's coats all week. That was a huge blessing!
We got to go caroling two times this week and we will be going at least once more this week. We went with the Dyers on Saturday. That was fun! Their 8 yr. old daughter, Rachel, must really like us because she would either be holding my hand or my companions at all times and she hugged each of us three times when we left. When we went with the Ulloms on Sunday night we had one family give us packages of hot cocoa haha and another family caroled to us when they opened the door. It was tons of fun!
I still have a lot of fear when talking to people on the street, but I did a lot better this week! I am grateful for Sis. Hartvigsen who sets such a great example for me. She really has helped me become a better missionary!
My quote is short and simple this week. Its from this last General Conference from Elder Ballard's talk, To Whom Shall We Go?
"Sometimes we can learn, study, and know, and sometimes we have to believe, trust, and hope."
Sorry for the short email. People get really busy this time of year and don't have time to meet with the missionaries so we didn't get many teaching opportunities this week.
I love you and hope you have a merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sister MacKay

Sorry, I only have videos of my companion this week. She is pretty
funny though 😂
