Week 35

3/27/17

Miracles everyday! Some little, some big, but always something!
Tuesday! I got to go on exchanges with Sis. Densley again! This time I
went to Forest Grove and we had a great time! While I was gone,
miracles were still happening in Amity. Sis. Hartvigsen and Sis.
Terror had the chance to teach a bunch of Adrian's family.
Wednesday! We came up with an awesome Ward Mission Plan, well, Sis.
Hartvigsen did. It is, Ask, Seek, Knock
Ask for the desire.
Seek to keep the commandments.
Knock for inspiration, and it shall be opened unto you.
Thursday! We had a bunch of great lessons! One of which, we officially
set the date for Jillian to be baptized on April 22! She is Adrian's
oldest daughter. She loves church and learning about the gospel, she
loves reading from the Book of Mormon.
Friday! We were able to get our car fixed (there was a recall on the
electronic system and the oil). We had a great district meeting where
I was able to get the revelation that I needed.
Saturday! We had some great lessons again! Found out why one of our
investigators hasn't been progressing so now we can help her better.
Fantastic lesson with Kelly on the Plan of Salvation and she really
felt the Spirit! She gave me a cute little crocheted turtle! I love
him! Then we had dinner with some less active members. That went great
because they told us why they don't come to church, we don't know how
to help them, but now we have something to work with. Women's
Conference was fantastic! We tried so hard to get people to come, but
no one did. Until the very end! Cathleen came in at the very end of
President Eyring's talk! She was the last person we thought would
come, but miracles happen! People change!
Sunday! Fast Sunday is always a day for miracles. First, the forecast
said we would get sun, but we were praying for rain because some of
our people work construction so they said they would come if it wasn't
good weather. We got our rain, sadly, they didn't keep their end. Huge
miracle! A member who has not been active in the church for a very
long time, just decided to come to church! His wife always invites him
and he never comes. Recently, we have really been pushing him to come,
and that morning his wife actually laid clothes out for him in case he
decided he wanted to come! She has also been having family prayer with
him everyday! Power of prayer and faith! Another member who has
recently started coming back to church, stayed for all three hours!
That is huge! We had a great lesson with Javier and got the time set
for his baptism on April 8. He is good to go, just needs an interview
this week and we need to put together the program. We re taught the
Law of Chastity to a couple we are teaching and helped them see how
the ward can help them have a good, cheap wedding and they were really
open to us at least if seeing what can be done. (Last time we told
them this, they were very against letting people help them) Last
miracle! Nathan walked into the church a few weeks ago and asked for
the missionaries to come teach his family. We set something up for
last night so we finally met with them! They are absolutely prepared
for the gospel! Him and his girlfriend have been through a lot, but
have been making huge changes and are ready to give their children a
good foundation. I wish I could give all the detail so you could see
how miraculous this is, but I just don't have the time to do so. Just
know, God is aware of each one of us, He is always working in our
lives to put us where we need to be to grow and to help others grow.
We are not here to fight this battle alone, God is always in the
details!
I left a lot out, but I really wanted to make sure you heard about our miracles!
I loved Women's session of conference so much, it really gave me some
needed guidance. I loved in Sister Cordon's talk she encouraged
sticking to the basics! That is so true, that is what gives us the
most strength! Sister McConkie said to, "give time to holiness" and I
feel that is so needed in today's world when there is never time for
anything. Sister Burton's talk on "certain women" made me just feel
like I can do this!! There was so much to get from President Eyring's
talk, but the biggest thing for me is that humility will give us
peace. I have been studying a lot on humility so that really jumped
out at me.
I love you all!
Love,
Sister MacKay
