Week 23

Happy New Year everyone!!!

So this week was full of a lot of opposition, but we did have something absolutely fantastic happen...Adrian is on date to be baptized January 14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so flipping excited! He has been meeting with missionaries for a long time and is always so scared to commit to anything and he is finally read to follow the promptings he is getting! He is super nervous so keep him in your prayers, but he is already living the way he is supposed to, he just needs to exercise some faith and make this covenant! This is such a huge blessing for his family and for all of the lives that he is going to change! We get transfer calls this weekend, we are pretty scared that one of us is going to get transferred and miss his baptism.

So, literally everyday this week, our plans never turned out. We couldn't seem to get a hold of anyone, over phone, at their house, or on the streets. It was tough. We also encountered three people within 48 hours that had some seriously anti Mormon views and opinions that they attacked us with. We were in a lesson with a guy and he was really nice the fisrt time we met him, but when we came back he didn't give us a single chance to say anything to him. He just went on and on about how the Book of Mormon isn't true. We asked him if he read it and, of course, the answer was "no." We were in there, trying to bear testimony/teach him something, but when my companion started to get really angry with him, I said it was time to go. He said a prayer with us..yeah, and then he gave us hugs and asked us to come back.. not likely. 

We had another guy that we called that night and he gave us a nice long listen about how there is incorrect doctrine in the church and it needs to be fixed. And then the next day, the very first door we went to, the first person we talked to, opened her door and immediaely said that she was reading her Bible, told us what religion she was and then asked us ours. We told her and she went off on us. She told us about how the Book of Mormon isn't true, how Joseph Smith isn't a prophet, and how Mormonism is a cult and we have been lied to. She brought us inside and started showing us some of the papers she had that "proved" why she was right and she even made copies of some of it for us to take home and read so that we could "know the truth." 

So, that was fun.

Today was awesome though! We went out on a hike with Adrian and his niece and cousin. It was snowing, but it wasn't too cold. We did get a bit muddy, but I had tons of fun! I wish we could have been out longer, but I needed to come back and email all you people ;)
