Wow! Lets see if I can remember what happened this week.
We had an awesome experience where we prayed with Adrian and had him send us to the place that came to his mind. So we went and tracted all the houses on this street and nothing really came from it. We were walking back to the car and I felt like we should go down the court off of the street. I asked Sis. Judd what house we should knock on. Colby answered and he was very nice. He took a Book of Mormon and set up an appointment for us to come back this Tuesday! We are praying that he is there and that we can teach him!
We got hail on Wednesday! That was so fun :) Sis. Judd didn't think it was that great, but that is something I miss about Arizona, the awesome storms! So I was excited.
We had interveiws with President and Sister Tateoka on Thursday! That is always so great. Sometimes I just need to tell President what I'm struggling with and he doesn't say much, but he helps me recieve revelation for myself. And then Sister Tateoka just pumps me up to go out and do the work!
Friday was my birthday!! That was such a great day! Everyone was so nice and I got some awesome packages from my family! We had cake after district meeting and then went out for pizza.
We met with Kelly this week and when we invited her to pray to know if the things we taught were true, she said, "I already know that its true! It all makes sense." We asked her if she would be baptized and she said that she will eventually. haha That was awesome:)
We had a super crazy experience that same day. I can't give too many details but we approched our investigator's mom because she has been into a lot of Anti Mormon and is very against her son getting baptized. We had tried teaching her before but it wasn't going anywhere. I felt prompted to go and bear testimony to her and ask her if her son could get baptized. So, even though we were scared to, we went. Her heart was still closed to it, but it was a very powerful experience for us. We bore such powerful testimony that I cried for the first time when bearing testimony. The Spirit was so strong, but we had to leave because she was not opening her heart to it. I feel like I'm not doing this story an justice, but it was a really cool experience for us.
So yesterday for Stake Conference they saved the first three rows for the missionaries and their investigators. Noah, Katie, Adrian and his girls all came and got to sit on the first and second rows! LeGrand Curtis Jr. from the first quorum of the Seventy was the visiting authority. President Tateoka also spoke and told us that the Ried Tateoka talked about in General Conference is his cousin. He told us the whole story about how he was prompted to gather all the missionaries for his meeting. He told us about how Reid Tateoka served in that same mission when he was a young missionary and how he took part in deciding where the mission home and office would be. That ended up being the perfect place, 35 years later, to keep the missionaries safe from that earthquake. That was so cool!!
"Holiness is in the striving and the struggle to keep the commandments and to honor the covenants we have made with God. Holiness is making the choices that will keep the Holy Ghost as our guide. Holiness is setting aside our natural tendencies and becominga saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord" Carol F. McConkie
